Just One More Reason I Love This Man
As if I needed another reason!
Hubby is the one who typically tucks the little ones into bed at night. He likes to read to them and pray with them. They've really had some special times with Daddy at bedtime.
Well, Sammy gets a song from Daddy each night. He sings her the Grateful Dead song, "Monkey and the Engineer". For those of you who are not Dead-Heads...it's a song about a train engineer who brings a monkey on the train with him. One day the engineer goes to get a bite to eat, and since the monkey has been watching the engineer, he's learned how to drive the train. He takes off in the train! It's a fun little song.
Sammy loves...LOVES...it. When I put her to bed, she always asks "Monkey song, Mama?" Sorry, little one...that one is for your Daddy to sing.
OK -making a short story long here - I'll wrap it up. Hubby was sorting through some CDs earlier in the week, and he came across the GD CD. He popped it into the player, and pressed play. You should have seen the look on Sammy's face! Hubby scooped her up, and they danced the song away in the kitchen. The joy on Sammy's face was priceless.
