I'm jumping in!!

Hello? Is anyone out there?

I've been reading (that is, "addicted to") several blogs for a while now. My friend Becky got me started when she began writing about her family's journey through the adoption process (sorry Beck, I'll figure out how to link to you soon). I've been so inspired by Becky and several other bloggers out there, that I thought I'd give this a try. Not that I think I have tons of wisdom or even that many good ideas to share... this is mostly just my way of "getting out" sometimes. As a SAHM to 4 little ones, I could use the outlet.

My first task was to come up with a name for my blog. Did anyone else find this nearly impossible? I finally came up with "Call Her Blessed", from the beautiful and often quoted 31st Proverb. I just love verses 25-28:

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her.

Blessed. That is, one who enjoys happy circumstances and from whom joy radiates to others. (NIV Study Bible. Page 1004, footnote 31:28)

This is who I want to be! OK, many times I'd rather be something...anything...besides a SAHM. But most of the time I just feel so abundantly blessed by my wonderful husband and miraculous (albiet rambunctious) kiddos.

My goal is to share some of my experiences as a wife, mom, friend, daughter, sister, and woman. As I learn interesting ways to make ends meet on one income, I'll try to share them too. If nothing else, this will be a good way to keep in touch with my long distance family and to preserve some memories.
