Frigid But Beautiful

Hey y'all! OK, I'm not from the south...I can't help it, it just came out.
We had such beautiful skies here today. It was bitterly cold and windy, but the pretty clouds this front blew in was worth it. I was sure getting sick of our "inversion grey" sky.
I pulled out my macro lenses today, and had fun around the house. There's not a whole lot I can shoot from home with my telephoto (except clouds), but the macros are a whole different story. I got some great stuff of my two older kids and some plants. Check out my Flickr site (right sidebar) to see for yourself. I'd love to hear which is your favorite. I'm hoping to get some photos of baby Samantha scanned in tonight - I don't think I have a single thing of her up yet! I'll let you know when to look for her.
The only down side to this new toy of mine is that I feel so...confined! As if I needed help in that department with 4 kids and cold weather! I'm just dying to get out about town and fill up this memory card! I can't believe that I almost forgot how I love to take pictures.
Today I've been feeling so grateful. Here's some of what I've been giving thanks for:
- Actually getting a much needed nap (after a brutal up-all-night-with-kids night last night)
- A delicious meal with wonderful friends this evening
- My healthy children
- Samantha's rosy cheeks
- Going to Costco today, and not having a single meltdown from any of the kids. We even ate some pizza with no real hassles.
- The nice man who shared his lunch table with my crazy kids at Costco. A true gentleman.
- Having a chance to take some pictures.
- My warm cozy house. It's a mess, but it's my mess and it's warm.
- Knowing I'm not alone even when I feel lonely. "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:20
- Seeing my children love and care for each other
What are you most thankful for today?
I'm thankful that I have my very own kids to hug and love and a husband whom I adore after 14 years.
