Heard Recently At Our House...

(Clara)  While driving home from AWANA, the smell of a nearby skunk filled the air, "Mommy!  I smell a stunk!"  What an appropriate name for that animal!

(Samantha) When I failed to prepare her apple to her liking, "NOOOOO!!!  NO CUT APPLE!!!  I NO WANT IT CUUUUTTTT!"  I wish this were a one time thing....our little Sammy has been seeing lots of discipline lately.  No fun for anyone.

(Thomas)  When he sees, hears, smells, thinks, or trips over anything that's remotely interesting to him, "Ooooo Ooooo Oooooooooooooooo.  Ooooooooooooooo."  

(Ben)  "Mommy, when are you going to let me teach you how to play Star Wars on the Wii?  I'm sure curious to see if you're smart enough for it."  Okay, Mr. Smarty Pants...now I'm gonna have to stay up late to practice after you're in bed just to be able to whoop your hiney.

My favorite:

(Ben)  "Mommy, I love you.  I love you because you take such good care of me."

(Mommy)  "Well that's funny, because the reason I take such good care of you is because I love you."

(Ben)  "Awww, Mommy.  I love you so much."

How can a 30 second conversation make 30 hours of hard work all worth it?  The Mommy-Hood is a great place to be.
